Pavement Parking

Following the Department for Transport’s consultation with the Government, it is widely expected that there will be a Nationwide ban on pavement parking coming into force later this year. Whilst it is already illegal to park on all of London’s pavements, it is not currently illegal to park on pavements across the rest of the country. The Nationwide ban should prevent motorists from blocking access for parents with pushchairs, anyone with limited mobility and anyone who is reliant on a guide dog. The parking ban could be enforced by Local Councils who will be given more power to deal with pavement obstructions and issue on-the-spot fines of £70! So, it might be time to find somewhere else to park.
