YOUNG DRIVERS BEWARE!

Did you know that young motorists account for nearly 40% of all dangerous driving endorsements? This is quite an alarming statistic considering that only 7% of this age group have a full driving license compared to other drivers on the road. They make up such a small proportion of the overall driving license holders in the UK!

A dangerous driving endorsement can be given to a driver for a number of reasons that equate to driving well below the expected standard set out to keep the driver, passengers and other road users safe. The most common reason for being given a driving endorsement include excessive speeding, running through red lights and driving aggressively.

The Director of Policy and Standards, Nicholas Lyes is campaigning for an extended period for learning to drive along with probationary period for young drivers to gain the experience needed to be safer on the roads. So watch this space!
